Technology
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a relatively new technology with increasing popularity in today’s world. It is the construction of three-dimensional objects by providing a computer-aided design/digital model to a printer that could then create an object by adding materials layer by layer.

The Gyralign is created using the CAD software system, OnShape. Models for each part of the Gyralign are designed and assembled on the site. Then a spool of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), a commonly used, durable, and cheap plastic filament, is inserted into a 3D printer. Instructions from the Gyralign model on OnShape are sent to the printer, and the manufacturing process begins.
